Todd Palin: ‘Stars Earn Stripes’ action is ‘right down my alley’ (Updated)


The New York Post talked briefly with Todd and Sarah Palin at the L.A. press party for "Stars Earn Stripes." Here's a short excerpt:
Q: What made you pick “Stars Earn Stripes” over other shows?

TP: If you are going to ask me to do “Dancing With the Stars” or go hang out with these people, I am going to hang out with these people! And be put in elements that are dangerous. Because I live life on the edge. Being a commercial fisherman, working in an oil field, snow machine racing, private pilot . . . this is right down my alley.

Q: Was there ever any chance of you doing “Stars Earn Stripes”?

SP: There is no way I could handle what they went through. The mental toughness that was required was amazing.

Q: But isn’t campaigning brutal?

SP: Politics are very brutal, but what these guys went through was very tough. Worthy cause though...

Q: What kind of effect have your family’s reality show experiences had on your political career?

SP: In my case and a lot of common-sense conservative cases, it doesn’t matter what you do, you are going to get criticized. So, you might as well live life vibrantly and have fun doing what you want to do. As Bristol has always said, “The critics will criticize, the haters are gonna hate, so you might as well dance.” That is what we are doing.

Stars Earn Stripes” will debut tonight on NBC with a special two-hour episode from 8pm to 10pm ET. It's regular time slot we be Mondays at 9pm ET.

Update: Sarah Palin says, via Facebook, that she's "Looking forward to watching 'Stars Earn Stripes' tonight."
